Canon & Sony To Increase Their Prices In Europe (& UK)
I just read on Bokeh.DigitalRev.com that there will be a price increase for Canon and Sony users. As I haven’t really been in the market for any Nikon equipment for a while, I have not noticed their increase, however this apparently took place earlier this year between January-April.
This price increase is apparently in relation to the after effects of Brexit, whereby the £GBP is very weak at the moment.
Prices are speculated to increase by 20% and will come into effect mid-August.
This is good and bad news for me… Mostly bad of course, but as I do have some items I am looking to sell, so with the new prices increasing this would also trickle down into an increase into the used market also. The long-term effects however are much worse…
So if you’re in the market for a new Canon or Sony item, now may be the best time to take the plunge.
I have personally have had my eye on the Sony 90mm f/2.8G Macro since its release and since this news I think I may be making that purchase within the week.
Similarly, I have Sony 35mm f2.8 FE I have been meaning to review, compare, and sell, I think I’ll postpone the sale a little longer since the price is definitely not dropping.
