2016-07-30 – Daniela & James

My friends Helen & Tim had met Daniela & James through their NCT group and Daniela & James were looking for a photographer to cover their wedding reception. They had already gotten married earlier this year, but still wanted to gather friends and family for a celebration.

Unlike most of my other bookings, I had not met Daniela & James until the day of their event! Usually I would need to run through scheduling with a fine tooth comb to iron out any creases with timings and travel. However with Daniela & James event, it was much more simple, all held within one location and they just wanted the ambience captured and a handful of formal photos.

Upon arrival I could hear Caribean steel drums playing which made for a very summery vibe. All the guests were making the most of the outside patio area and you could feel the positive energy bursting throughout.

With a quick introduction to Daniela & James for the first time, me and Sophia more or less went straight to snapping!

All the guests seemed to be in good spirits and filled with a lot of spirits 😉 – I could hear the banter all around me which led to some cracking smiles for the photos.

On a side note, it was great to see Fran & Gareth again as well. They’re also apart of the same NCT group which is also how I was introduced to them for their family shoot a few months back.

The only formalities required for this event was for a couple of group photos with the immediate family and one shot of the entire wedding party.

We gathered everyone outside the venue and right in front of the riverside and to get some height over the crowd, I had to cheekily stand on the ledge outside Gaucho’s with diners right behind me. Hopefully they didn’t mind too much, but in this instance it was one of those situations where its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission lol…

At this point just after the group shots, the sunset was beginning to look great and it was just getting better and better!

We had to grab a few portraits of Daniela & James in the sunset, likewise with a few other guests.

However, Daniela & James had to have a silhouette shot!

After these photos we all headed back inside where James wow’d the crowd with his moves!

Daniela & James have left a lasting impression on me for sure. Throughout the event, they were very courteous to both me and Sophia with taking time out of their celebrations just to have a chat with us. Even as we were leaving, James insisted we take a bottle of wine with us to enjoy.

I do sincerely wish them all the best with the next step in their lives!
